Small Items may be left in a safe and secure location, in a place prearranged with the courier, or with a neighbour where you have requested to do so with the courier. A photograph is still required with smaller items.
Larger items will need a photograph or signature and cannot be left unattended, so someone will need to be at home to accept delivery. DHL will attempt to redeliver the next working day if no one is available to accept the order.
